Sometimes the best solution is to take a step back and let go.

Most coaches get into this gig because we want to help. And nothing drives us more crazy than not knowing how to help our girls. We take pride in learning the latest drills and skills. We work really hard trying to get to know every player and what they need as individuals in order to succeed. Sometimes though, we don’t have an answer.

Even reading that just now probably made you uncomfortable, right? You’re not alone. Listen in to today’s episode where two VERY skilled, VERY successful, veteran coaches discuss how they deal with that situation.

Today we discuss…

  • Struggling defensively because they’re afraid to make a mistake
  • Holding players accountable while still being positive
  • When the snowball becomes an AVALANCHE
  • When you feel desperate to “fix it” but don’t know what to do
  • Switching the focus from stress to competition
  • Pressing and trying to control things that are outside of our control

COACHING RESOURCE | A Friendly Reminder

Today’s resource is a reminder that we all need sometimes. Stop trying so hard! 🙂 If you believe in hard work and tend to want to “fix” things immediately, this phone background is for you. It’s a gentle nudge that says, “Take a breath, step back for minute, and trust that it’ll work out.” Then, and only then, will the solution actually present itself.

If you’re really want to make an impact on those you coach, you need to make sure you stay in the mindset of TRUSTING, not pressing. And that is much easier to do with a support system of coaches who have been there. That’s what we’re offering and more with out limited-time bonus experience.

What you’ll get:

First, you and your entire team get access to the Dream Team Blueprint, which has been upgraded and renamed the Best Season Ever Mental Performance System. As a bonus, you, coach get 6 weeks of personalized support from our team. In addition to myself and Alicia, that team now includes mindset & health master TJ Leeder, sports-parent Yoda, Stacie Mahoe, and teen confidence whisperer, Jenn Starkey!

Even if you’re not in season right now, or summer ball is in full swing, this is the perfect opportunity to boost your players’ performance AND get the support and training you need. All for less than the price of one new bat 🙂

Phenomenal information

As a new coach that believes in the mental game being so important, the podcasts and group discussions online have been amazing. Thank you ladies so much! Just knowing that the day to day struggles and doubts are felt by so many others has been remarkably reassuring. Thank you for what you are giving to others in the sport.

5 Star Podcasts!

I love listening to your podcasts while out on a run or on my way to work. They are focused and give me one or two pieces of inspiration to focus on with my team for the week. I have implemented a few key words (like "supportive") and have gotten huge returns from it! Keep up the great work!!

Mental Toughness

As a softball coach and a teacher, I appreciate all of the strategies and advice that Melanie shares each week! She is so inspiring, knowledgeable about the mental game, and willing to help in any way! One tip that really resonates with me is learning how to understand which things in life you are able to control, and what is out of your control. I teach these skills on the field and in the classroom! Thank you for all of the support and encouragement!

🌟 ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️ 🌟

I love being part of the Mental Sweet Spot because it helps me think outside of the box to help our team grow mentally. I’ve noticed with the techniques and advice from Melanie and others in her Facebook Group I’ve help my team not only grow mentally but athletically as well. Mental toughness will help your team on the field as well and Melanie’s advice has proven that time and time again.
