Come along with us this season to see how we implemented the mental game with Alicia’s team! In each episode, we discuss the activities, discussions, and drills Alicia used with her players to build their mental toughness- all while also trying to bolster the physical skills of a very young, half-new team.

In this episode, we’ll introduce what we’ll be doing with the team and discuss:

  • The core values of the Mattawan program, from Alicia’s perspective as the program leader.
  • Using the Athlete Types assessment to help a team of half new players to get to know each other faster.
  • Exploring the team and individual “why” they play.
  • Setting daily process goals and working it into the practice plan.

And don’t forget your freebie!

This template can be used by your players daily to set and track process goals. We suggest setting up to three each day, making sure they’re focused on the process. You may want to help your players drill down on these goals to make sure they’re specific and actionable. Then use Goal Buddies to help each other stay accountable and motivated!
